I will be leading a Bible Study on James begininng September 11, at  7:00PM. This look into James will be a six-week inductive Bible study. It is a tool to help you dig deeper in your own personal Bible study time. There will be material provided. We will attach the booklet to the emails and have printouts in church.

Inductive Bible study is an approach to God’s Word focusing on three basic steps that move from a focus on the broad scope of the book to the specific passage with the hope of letting the text speak. The steps are observation (what does it say?), interpretation (what does it mean?), and application (what does it mean for my life?). Through these three steps, we apply inductive reasoning, which is defined as the attempt to use information about a specific situation to draw a conclusion.  Inductive Bible study is a valuable tool in understanding and applying the principles of God’s Word. Inductive Bible study can be done on many different levels. The shorter version is good for a brief devotional. 

All employees, contractors and volunteers are expected to read and comply with the procedures identified in the Lakeside UMC Safe Sanctuary Policy. Individuals working directly with the children, youth, and/or protected persons must also be certified by completing the brief training and background check. Recertification is required for continued participation. Training takes approximately 30 minutes and we appreciate everyone planning to attend.
